Connected Autonomous Vehicles (MPAI-CAV) is a project developing a series of CAV standards (Architecture (CAV-ARC) and Technologies (CAV-TEC)) that support componentisation of CAVs that enable the industry to accelerate the development of explainable, efficient, and affordable CAVs.

Part 1 – Architecture specifies functions and identifies data. Part 2 – Technologies will specify the Data Types. MPAI-CAV – Architecture is also IEEE 3307-2024.

Technical Specification: Connected Autonomous Vehicles (MPAI-CAV) – Architecture V1.0 will be the second of the planned series of CAV standards for which MPAI has published:

requesting the submission of proposals by the deadline of 2024/07/06 T23:59 UTC,

 

The MPAI-CAV – Architecture Working Draft (html, pdf) was published with a request for Community Comments and presented online on 06 September 2023. See the video recordings (YT, WimTV) and the slides of the presentation.

Comments had to be sent to the MPAI Secretariat by 2023/09/26T23:59 UTC. Comments received were used to develop the final draft approved by the 36th General Assembly on 29 September 2023.

MPAI had previously published a Call for Technologies with a deadline of 15 August 2023 as below:
