Those intended to submit a response to Call for Technologies – Neural Network Watermarking (MPAI-NNW) – Technologies (NNW-NNT) V1.0 are invited to consider the following revised text of the Functional requirements:

  1. An Actor applying a tracking technology should be able to detect whether a content (model or inference) includes the tracking technology.
  2. An Actor applying a tracking technology should be able to detect whether the Source data has been processed during the transmission from a Source to a Sink.
  3. An Actor transmitting data including a tracking technology should be able to decide whether the data preserves:
    1. the syntax of the Source data or data resulting from any processing.
    2. the semantics of the Source data or data resulting from any processing.
  4. An Actor receiving data including a tracking technology should be able to decide whether the data preserves:
    1. the syntax of the Source data or data resulting from any processing.
    2. the semantics of the Source data or data resulting from any processing.
  5. An Actor applying a watermarking technology to Source data should be able to retrieve the payload from the NN or the NN inference, to:
    1. allow identification of the sender (key holder),
    2. allow the identification of the intended receiver of the data being considered, if that information appears in the payload,
    3. verify whether the data being considered was sent by the intended sender, if that information appears in the payload,
    4. verify whether the data being considered was meant for a different receiver.
  6. An Actor applying a fingerprinting technology to Source data should be able to identify the NN.
