Technical Specification: Context-based Audio Enhancement (MPAI-CAE) – Six Degrees of Freedom (CAE-6DF) V1.0 – in the following also called CAE-6DF V1.0 or simply CAE-6DF – specifies the digital representation of the intended area of a sound field captured with an arbitrary number, at least 3, of microphone arrays each with at least 4 microphone sensors. The representation includes several types of audio objects with specific spatial attributes and is transported to a decoder able to reproduce any point of the represented region of the sound field from the listener’s Position and Orientation.
CAE-6DF V1.0 was developed by the Context-based Audio Enhancement -Development Committee. MPAI may develop extensions or related Technical Specifications in the area addressed by CAE-6DF V1.0.
