1 Functions

The Audio Scene Editing (CAE-ASE) AIM:

Receives User Command From the User: one per User action.
Point of View The User Point of View.
Basic Audio Object or Audio Object An Object to place in the open Scene.
Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors The Scene to open.
Produces Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors The open Scene after the User Command.

One Scene is open at a time, so that a User Command need not name its target: the Scene arriving at the Input Port is open, and its Header says whether it is a Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or an Audio Scene Descriptors. When no Scene is open, the first Object placed creates one: a Basic Audio Scene Descriptors for a Basic Audio Object, an Audio Scene Descriptors for an Audio Object. A User Command acts on the open Scene:

  • Added Objects – places the named Objects in the Scene, each by its Space-Time.
  • Moved Objects, Changed Objects – places a member again, at its new Space-Time.
  • Removed Objects – takes members out of the Scene.
  • User Point of View – sets where the Scene is heard from; a member may have its own.

A Scene may also be placed in a Closed Space, and a Basic Audio Scene Descriptors has the Scene part of the Acoustic Profile.

8 Conformance Testing

Table 2 provides the Conformance Testing Method for the Audio Scene Editing (CAE-ASE) AIM.

If a schema contains references to other schemas, conformance of data for the primary schema implies that any data referencing a secondary schema shall also validate against the relevant schema, if present, and conform with the Qualifier, if present.

Table 2 – Conformance Testing Method for the Audio Scene Editing (CAE-ASE) AIM

Receives User Command Shall validate against the User Command schema.
Point of View Shall validate against the Point of View schema.
Basic Audio Object or Audio Object Shall validate against the schema its Header names: Basic Audio Object or Audio Object.
Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors Shall validate against the schema its Header names: Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors.
Produces Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors Shall validate against the schema its Header names: Basic Audio Scene Descriptors or Audio Scene Descriptors.
