1. Function

The Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM is a Sub-AIM of Personality Alignment (PGM‑PAL). It selects the personality stance appropriate to the User State and the context.

PGM‑STS:

  • Receives the User State, the Resolved Context and the AUC-PAL Request.
  • Selects the personality stance appropriate to the User State and the resolved context, applying role and locale constraints. The stance is not necessarily a mirror of the User State.
  • Produces the Selected Stance.

PGM‑STS does not compose the A‑User State.

2. Reference Model

Figure 1 depicts the Reference Model of the Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM.

3. Input/Output Data

Table 1 specifies the Input and Output Data of the Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM.

Table 1 – I/O Data of the Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM

Input Description
User State Estimate of the User’s internal state, sent one‑way by User State Refinement.
Resolved Context The interaction context, reconciled with the User State.
AUC-PAL Request Goal and, optionally, a weighted proposed correction from A‑User Control.
Output Description
Selected Stance The personality stance selected for the A‑User, with its role and locale constraints.

4. Sub-AIMs

8. Conformance Testing

Table 2 provides the Conformance Testing Method for the Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM.

If a schema contains references to other schemas, conformance of data for the primary schema implies that any data referencing a secondary schema shall also validate against the relevant schema, if present, and conform with the Qualifier, if present.

Table 2 – Conformance Testing Method for the Stance Selection (PGM‑STS) AIM

Receives User State Shall validate against the User State schema.
Resolved Context Shall validate against the Resolved Context schema.
AUC-PAL Request Shall validate against the AUC-PAL Request schema.
Produces Selected Stance Shall validate against the Selected Stance schema.

9. Performance Assessment

Not part of this specification.
