Capitalised Terms have the meaning defined in Table 1. Lowercase Terms have the meaning commonly defined for the context in which they are used.
A dash “-” preceding a Term in Table 1 indicates the following readings according to the font:
- Normal font: the Term in the table without a dash and preceding the one with a dash should be read before that Term.
- Italic font: the Term in the table without a dash and preceding the one with a dash should be read after that Term.

| Device Scene Geometry | A Data Type including the Point of View of the Devices capturing media information, possibly grouped according to the characteristics of the Devices. |
| Listener | The user experiencing the audio at the decoder side. |
| Sound field | The spatial and temporal distribution of sound pressure in a defined physical region of space and interval of time. |
| Transport | The function of making available Audio Objects from encoder to decoder. |
