Technical Specification: Pursuing Goals in metaverse (MPAI-PGM) – Autonomous User Architecture (PGM-AUA) V1.0 specifies the architecture, the functions, and the interfaces by which an Autonomous User (A-User) in an MPAI-MMM Metaverse Instance (M-Instance) – that is, a Process having considerable or complete autonomy there – interacts with another User in the same or in another M-Instance.

The latter User may also be an A-User or may be under the direct control of a human, and in this case would be called a Human-User (H-User). Accordingly, the term “User” means “conversational partner, whether autonomous or human-driven”, such as a robot interacting with another robot or with a human – within a simulated world.

A-Users can capture text and audio-visual information originated by, or surrounding, the conversational partner User; can extract the User State, i.e., a snapshot of the User’s cognitive, emotional, and interactional state; can produce an appropriate multimodal response, rendered as a speaking Avatar; and can move in the relevant metaverse space.

The A-User

  1. Operates in a M-Instance, i.e., a virtual space implemented according to Technical Specification: MPAI Metaverse Model (MPAI-MMM) – Technologies (MMM-TEC).
  2. Is assumed to be implemented as an AI Module (AIM), potentially composed of a hierarchy of AIMs per Technical Specification: AI Framework (MPAI-AIF).
