Technical Specification: Process Instance Trust Framework (MPAI‑PTF) V1.0 specifies the data structures, processes, and protocols enabling Process Instances to establish, evaluate, and maintain trust in distributed environments populated by Process Instances. Specifically, MPAI‑PTF defines the representation of identity, credentials, attestation evidence, and trust policies, and the procedures by which Process Instances exchange and verify these elements to support secure and interoperable interactions.

This Technical Specification, also referred to as MPAI‑PTF V1.0 or simply MPAI‑PTF, standardises:

  • the structure of Cryptographic Instance Identity
  • the structure and verification of Instance Credentials
  • the representation and validation of Attestation Evidence
  • the representation and evaluation of Policy Bindings
  • the Trust Protocol enabling trust establishment between Process Instances
  • the verification pipeline used to derive trust decisions

MPAI‑PTF does not specify:

  • the internal implementation of Process Instances
  • the internal mechanisms used by hardware or operating systems to produce evidence
  • the governance or certification processes for Trust Anchors
  • transport‑layer security mechanisms (e.g., TLS)
  • application‑level semantics beyond trust establishment

The current version of the Technical Specification: Process Instance Trust Framework (MPAI‑PTF) V1.0 has been developed by the MPAI AI Framework (AIF‑DC). Future Versions may revise and/or extend the Scope of this Technical Specification.
