(Informative)
MPAI-AIF V3.0 specifies the AI Framework: an environment that executes, composes and secures AI components called AI Modules (AIM).
- Execution. The AI Framework starts, connects, runs and stops AIMs under the control of a Controller. It serves both interactive exchanges and continuous, high-rate data flows. AIMs may run on one device, across several machines, or as a service on a remote server (MPAI as a Service).
- Composability. AIMs combine into composite AIMs, and those into larger ones, described by standard Metadata. What is to be done with them is described in a standard Workflow language, not hard-wired.
- Interoperability. An AIM is defined by its Function and by the Data Types of its Ports. Any implementation meeting them can replace another, obtained from the MPAI Store. Interoperable components create a market where providers compete on performance.
- Security. Nothing runs on trust alone: every AIM is identified and credentialed, checked against the implementation the MPAI Store approved, and allowed only what its Metadata declares; data travels and is stored under explicit rules; links between machines are mutually authenticated; every trust decision is recorded (Security API).
