1 Definition

Road is a Data Type identifying a road of an Offline Map and the segments composing it. A Road Segment ID – a Road ID and a Segment Number in it – is the way other Data Types, e.g., Road State, refer to a piece of road.

2 Functional Requirements

A Road shall include:

  • Its identifier, the Map Provider defining it (e.g., HERE, OpenDRIVE, Lanelet2) and the version of the map data.
  • Optionally, its category (highway, urban, rural, residential, other) and its geometry as a centreline polyline.
  • The list of its segments, each identified by the Road ID and its Segment Number, optionally with a Section ID and the IDs of its lanes.

5 Conformance Testing

Data conform to the Road Data Type when they validate against its schema. If the schema references other schemas, data referencing a secondary schema shall also validate against that schema, if present, and conform with the Qualifier, if present.
