Technical Specification: Human and Machine Communication (MPAI-HMC) V1.1 is a collection of Human and Machine Communication Use Cases – whose specification includes AI Workflows, AI Modules, and Data Types. The current Version 1.1 includes the Communicating Entities in Context Use Case that  leverages:

  1. The MPAI Technical Specification AI Framework (MPAI-AIF).
  2. Five MPAI Technical Specifications dealing with technologies enabling communication of real and digital humans in real or virtual environments:
    1. Context-based Audio Enhancement (MPAI-CAE)
    2. MPAI Metaverse Model – Architecture (MPAI-MMM)
    3. Multimodal Conversation (MPAI-MMC)
    4. Object and Scene Description (MPAI-OSD)
    5. Portable Avatar Format (MPAI-PAF).

MPAI-HMC adopts the normative elements from MPAI-AIF and the five Technical Specifications referenced  by this Technical Specification.

Terms beginning with a capital letter are defined in Table 1 if they are MPAI-HMC-specific or in Table 2 if their use extends across all MPAI Technical Specifications. A term beginning with a small letter has the commonly intended meaning.

This Chapter is Informative. The Chapters, Sections, and Annexes of this Technical Specification are Normative unless they are explicitly identified as Informative.
