1 Functions
The Speech Object Editing (MMC‑SOE) AIM edits Speech Objects at the request of a User Command. It is used by Audio Scene Management (CAE‑ASM). One Speech Object is open at a time: the Speech Object that the User Command gives, in full or by its identifier (AcquiredObject), is opened or kept. Speech Objects are identified by the name the User gave them, and every amount in a User Command is a number it carries.
| Receives | User Command | A request (UserCommandRQ). |
| Translation | The translated Speech, from Text and Speech Translation. | |
| Produces | Speech Object | The open Speech Object, as edited. |
| Speech, Language | To Text and Speech Translation: the Speech to translate and the Language Selector. | |
| User Command | The response (UserCommandRS): how each action was executed. |
A User Command acts on the open Speech Object:
- User PoV – sets where the Object is heard from; the User Point of View is carried by the User Command (UserPoV).
- Changed Objects – changes the Speech Qualifier or the Spatial Attitude of the Object.
- Translated Objects – has the Object translated: the Speech and a Language Selector go to Text and Speech Translation (MMC‑TST); the Qualifier of the translated Speech Object states the target language (its Attributes.Metadata.Language). The translation, when it comes back, replaces the original under its name, so that every Speech Scene holding the Object holds the translation, at its place: there is no Object in two versions, nor two Objects at one place.
- Deleted Objects – deletes, from where the Module keeps them, the Speech Objects named, by the name the User gave them, with all their versions. An Object that is a member of a Scene is not deleted: the response says so and names the Scene, and the Scene is deleted first. A name that is not known fails. Deleting is not removing: Removed Objects takes an Object out of the open Scene and leaves it kept.
The response says how each action was executed; for a translation, when it is done.

3 I/O Data
Table 1 specifies the Input and Output Data of the Speech Object Editing (MMC-SOE) AIM. A Port is addressed by its Data Type and its Port Number (#); where the metadata gives none, none is shown.
| Input | Description |
|---|---|
| User Command RQ (CAE-UCM) | Instruction directing the operation of the MMC‑SOE AIM. It carries the Speech Object to open (AcquiredObject) and the User Point of View (UserPoV). Optional. |
| Basic Speech Object (OSD-BSO) #2 | The Translation: the translated Speech. Optional. |
| Output | Description |
| Speech Object (OSD-SPO) #1 | The open Speech Object after the User Command. |
| Basic Speech Object (OSD-BSO) #2 | The Speech to translate. Optional. |
| Selector (OSD-SEL) | The language to translate into. Optional. |
| User Command RS (CAE-UCM) | The response to the User Command (for a translation, when it is done). Optional. |

8 Conformance Testing
Table 2 provides the Conformance Testing Method for the Speech Object Editing (MMC-SOE) AIM.
If a schema contains references to other schemas, conformance of data for the primary schema implies that any data referencing a secondary schema shall also validate against the relevant schema, if present, and conform with the Qualifier, if present.
| Receives | User Command RQ (CAE-UCM) | Shall validate against the User Command schema, and contain a UserCommandRQ. |
| Basic Speech Object (OSD-BSO) #2 | Shall validate against the Basic Speech Object schema. | |
| Produces | Speech Object (OSD-SPO) #1 | Shall validate against the Speech Object schema. |
| Basic Speech Object (OSD-BSO) #2 | Shall validate against the Basic Speech Object schema. | |
| Selector (OSD-SEL) | Shall validate against the Selector schema. | |
| User Command RS (CAE-UCM) | Shall validate against the User Command schema, and contain a UserCommandRS. |
